I have a pure CSS collapsable div which is based on someone else's code who uses the :target psuedoclass. I cannot figure out how to make multiple collapsing div elements on this page without writing a ton of extra CSS. Anyone have suggestions on how to write this so my CSS code is minimized?

Do note that unsupported browser will simply show the expanded version of course, so that may be acceptable in some cases. The :target selector has a pretty good browser supportand it can be used to make a single collapsible element within the frame.

OK, so some spacing walks into a bar, trips and falls on the floor. Collapsing margins happen when two vertical margins come in contact with one another.

If one margin is greater than the other, then that margin overrides the other, leaving one margin. If the modules above are placed next each other in the HTML markup, then we might expect there to be 75px 25px from the top module plus 50px from the bottom module between them vertically, right? Go ahead and measure. A natural reaction might be to keep increasing the smaller margin until it makes a difference. But alas, when both margins are positive numbers:. Those of you more mathematically minded than the likes of myself may cleverly ask: what about negative margins?

The answer is that it does have a significant impact and reduces the margin between the two elements. In English, if one margin is negative, the negative margin is subtracted from the positive margin, reducing the total vertical margin. And if both margins are negative? The same rule holds as if both were positive.

However, the margin that collapses is the bigger negative of the two rather than the one that is closest to being positive. For example, if one margin is px and the other is pxthen px will be the margin.

Another situation you might wonder about is when one vertical margin meets an equal vertical margin. Collapsing margins also occur when the margin of a child element crosses the margin of its parent. In this example, div is the parent and each class after is a nested child element. That establishes the parent-child relationship. Again, our natural inclination might be to expect the total margin to be the sum of the parent and child margins. Parents can be so bossy. But like any parental punishment, there is a way around this by adding something solid to the parent.

In this case, adding 1px of padding allows both margins to be used. The same would be true if we added border-top to the parent. As long as something solid sits between the parent and child, both margins will be used. Do you see how collapsing margins can make things tricky?

Matsatsantsa then went on to win 4-2 on penalties. SuperSport have only suffered one loss in all competitions at home this season, with that loss coming from neighbours Sundowns in August last year. Matsatsantsa have since went on an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions at home after that loss.

City got off to a bright start to life under McCarthy, reaching the MTN8 final but they have won only one of their last six league games, with their dramatic second half collapse at home to Maritzburg United in midweek particularly concerning. City will need to bring far more defensive resolve to Tshwane on Saturday, as they seek redemption for the MTN8 final defeat to SuperSport on October 14. City have only won two away games in the league this season, at Wits in the first round of fixtures, and at Ajax, though that was effectively on their home ground at Cape Town Stadium.

But I just fancy them to add a third today. Matsatsantsa are on a good run under Eric Tinkler, unbeaten in seven league games, but I think that will come to an end, with City winning 2-1.

However, the NFC has a few top Super Bowl contenders hoping to prevent them from a repeat, with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers meeting in a monster Week 1 matchup that could ultimately determine who earns home-field advantage. The Patriots officially kick off the season on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs, who many thought could challenge them last season before they lost at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

This year, New England will have star quarterback Tom Brady from the start, although he will not have top target Julian Edelman to throw to after he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. Instead, Brady will break in new addition Brandin Cooks, as the Patriots have been bet up to 9-point home favorites over the Chiefs after opening at -7. In addition, Kansas City will be without running back Spencer Ware due to a season-ending knee injury, and this could be the last year quarterback Alex Smith has to lead the offense with rookie Patrick Mahomes waiting in the wings.

The Chiefs have lost the past six road meetings at New England, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, going 2-4 against the spread. The Patriots covered eight in a row to wrap up last season, when they finished with a remarkable 16-3 mark ATS overall. In the NFC, a showdown at Lambeau Field between the top teams in the conference based on future odds might be even more exciting.

The Packers saw their Super Bowl run fall short in the NFC Championship Game a year ago, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers doing the best he could with limited offensive weapons and an injury-plagued defense.

Green Bay is a 3-point home favorite in this spot versus Seattle and has won the past seven home meetings in the series, covering the spread in the last four. The Seahawks have an outstanding record recently as an underdog though, going 19-6-1 ATS in their previous 26 under that scenario. They were the most impressive team in the preseason too, totaling the most points en route to a perfect 4-0 mark SU and ATS.

Fortunately, the pronouncements of various storage experts about where all-flash storage will be in five years are far less gloomy. There is no doubt that all-flash is receiving market buy-in. So much so, that hybrid array sales are faltering and arrays made solely with hard disk drives (HDDs) are all but disappearing.

Gartner analyst Valdis Filks believes that solid-state arrays (SSAs) will improve in performance by a factor of 10, and double in density and cost-effectiveness within the next year.

This is destined to change the dynamics of the storage market. And from there, he sees many years of further expansion. Further, price erosion will probably reach a level to allow the complete substitution of SAS hard disks, reducing the usage of hybrid systems to usage areas that focus on the lowest costs per capacity and which do not have high-performance requirements. SSAs are emerging as the general preference to hybrid arrays and as a clear replacement for aging disk arrays.

Vendors are innovating with various form factors and technologies such as PCIe, NMVe and 3D XPoint. NVMe is a much-needed update to data transport mechanisms created in an era when Internet users were happy with 28k dial-up connections, This brings the communication channels around storage closer to the velocity of modern processors and flash architectures. NVMe also excites Jeff Boudreau, president, Dell EMC Storage Division. He notes that although we are still in the early days of real NVMe usage in storage, it will become the industry standard in five years.

What You Should Know About Collapsing Margins

Storage class memory (SCM) is a general term that may include specific vendor offerings such as 3D XPoint, ZSSD and others. It is also referenced sometimes as persistent memory (PMEM). This memory technology promises to be 10 times denser and up to 1000 times faster than conventional flash.

Jeff Baxter, chief evangelist for ONTAP at NetApp, agrees that the new possibilities offered by SCM and NVMe are disrupting the market and fueling innovation. NetApp has been developing NVMe-over-Fabrics technology over existing 32 GB FC SAN infrastructure from Brocade directly to NetApp AFF all-flash arrays running the NetApp ONTAP data management system.

css collapse div

It has also introduced SCM technology as a cache directly within an AFF storage controller, providing three times the IOPS with the same release of ONTAP, same controller and same workload.

These technological breakthroughs are the news of today. But in a few years, they will enter the mainstream. Users can expect to pay more for products containing SCM and other technologies for a while. Eventually, however, they will become the norm. These will be based on server designs with intelligent storage software on top, and less on dedicated storage controller design. When Rob Commins, vice president of marketing at Tegile looks into the crystal ball, he sees one large shared memory pool as opposed to a shared storage pool.

Eric Herzog, vice president of worldwide storage channels, IBM, concurs with other experts that we can expect NVMe and 3D XPoint to become increasingly more prevalent.

He also called attention to recent discussions and presentations centered around RRAM as yet another wave of high performance, non-volatile storage media.

At the same time, he foresees flash moving down the food chain. Whereas disk or even tape is regarded as the best home for secondary storage currently, Herzog thinks flash will gradually take over large chunks of these markets.

Odisha house image

Perhaps there will be a price premium for the very latest flash technologies like SCM. But otherwise, the idea that all-flash arrays are more expensive than high-performance hard drive based systems is a myth, according to Herzog. On cost per GB, he thinks they are on par.

How to Create a Animated Sidebar Menu using HTML, CSS & JavaScript.

Once you factor in the extensive abilities for data reduction, they can be less expensive per GB.
